Lifecam Cinema App: Managing Your Connected Cameras

When it comes to using your camera with the Lifecam Cinema app, you'll need to select the correct device from a list of connected cameras. To do this, simply type 'manage cameras' in the search bar on your Start menu and select 'Manage cameras' from the results.

It's important to note that apps using the camera may apply different settings at any time while using the camera. This means that not every app will use the default settings provided by Windows. When an app uses the camera, it starts with default settings that are stored for each camera and user account. These settings do not synchronize between multiple Windows devices.

Fortunately, you can set default settings for each camera in the Camera settings page. This includes infrared (IR) cameras used for Windows Hello Face authentication, cameras using DirectShow technology, and proprietary cameras that aren't managed by Windows. For example, this could include industrial cameras and many networked cameras.

Keep in mind that some cameras may not appear in the Camera settings page. If you're having trouble finding your camera, try checking the app's documentation or contacting the manufacturer for more information.
